IBBFA Certification Examination
The exam is the credential. Three pathways — one standard. Every IBBFA-certified instructor passes the same rigorous examination, regardless of how they prepare.
The IBBFA Certification Examination is the standard assessment for barre fitness instructors worldwide, administered by the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association (EST. 2008). The exam evaluates competency across anatomy, barre technique, class design, cueing, safety, and scope of practice — aligned with IBBFA's published competency framework. Candidates may prepare through the IBBFA CBI Course, independent study, or an IBBFA Recognized Preparation Program. All pathways lead to the same IBBFA credential, verified through the public credential registry. The IBBFA examination is recognized for continuing education credits by ACE, NASM, AFAA, PMA, ISSA, CanFitPro, and REPS.
